Agriculture Program
Agriculture employs over 50% of the workforce in Senegal, with about 80% of those workers being in rural areas like Ngonine. Harsh climates are a constant due to the sub-Saharan terrain. The Impact Senegal Agriculture Program enables farmers to feed their families and make a profit through consistent planting seasons and entrepreneurial practices.
Since 2022, the Agriculture Project has grown from two staff to seven. The main crops are peanuts, onions, habanero peppers, and okra.
In 2025, the program implemented a new solar-powered irrigation system and deep borehole well (50+ meters) that provides consistent running water, removes fuel costs, and supports climate responsibility.
Farmers also meet for business-oriented financial classes, which reinforce health business practices as they expand.
